Arafat General Hospital with Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Shitairi, Director of Emergency Section at Al-Thaqar Hospital in Jeddah.  Dr. Abdulaziz has worked for Hajj Season for  at the present time he is the supervisor of the Saudi Fellowship Doctors working at the holy places and supervisor of the visiting Saudi doctors during Hajj season 1429H.

Arafat General Hospital with Dr. Abdullah Bin Mansour Al-Sheriff, a consultant at the intensive care unit for Pediatrics.

When asked, what does the emergency section at the Holy Places hospital need? "It needs the development of manpower. It needs to be privatized as being fledgling section. It needs to be improved effectively the matter that would improve the health of the patient."

Her View:

"I have observed the big number of pilgrims coming to perform Hajj this year. I have noticed that the equipment at the emergency section is not advanced and that the doctors at the emergency section consists of surgery specialists and other specialist doctors the reason that made them late in handling the cases at the emergency section.

A first timer to work in the Hajj Season, we asked him about the difference between the hospitals outside and the hospitals in the Holy Places. His reply;
"Work at the holy places hospitals is considered as a unique one and totally different than working at the hospitals outside the holy places as you meet many people coming from various parts of the world.

Jabal Al-Rahma Hospital headed by its Emergency Director Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Wazan's message was very inspiring, he said;

"I sincerely send my deep appreciation thanking all the doctors who participated in forming Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine (SASEM) as the Emergency Medicine is very important in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in terms of promoting the medical services. In addition to that, I am prepared to render all required support in this organization (SASEM)."

Nimerah Hospital we met Dr. Mostapha Balgoon, the Director of Hospital on Arafah Day (Sunday). He is working in his 8th straight years now at the various hospital in this Holy place. Despite of his busy schedule, he was able to provide us some of his precious minutes.

SASEM December Featured Newsletter

As we commemorate the biggest and most important event in the year 2008 during the Hajj Season in the Holy Mosque in Mecca, we, as Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine (SASEM) and the assigned team from SASEM Organizer, Global Vision Medical Trading Service (GVMTS) were and still are so proud and lucky to be a part of this successful mass gathering. Our journey started on the of 4th of December 2008 and was completed on 10th of December of 2008.  The designated team was composed of the Mr. Majdi Osman (logistic officer) and Mr. Ahmed Al-Hamwi (marketing officer).

Before we proceeded to the next hospitals, we went to meet with Saudi Red Crescent Society in their Headquarter led and coordinated by  Dr. Zohair Al Aseri and with the full support and assistance of Mr. Abdulaziz Aldhowian, the Secretary of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Chairman of the Saudi Red Crescent Society and the Honorary Chairman of the Saudi Society for Emergency Medicine.
