Systematic Approach in EM Section at Mena Aljisr Hospital in Hajj 1429H

"The cases received by the emergency section are divided into three parts to be sorted out by the respective section – containing the emergency doctors at the emergency gate for receiving the patient directly as the first part. This part is named as the green zone by the emergency doctor. This part is considered as the outpatient clinics where the patients who come there used to suffer from fatigue or throat inflammation or similar diseases that can be treated at the outpatient clinics by the medicines. The second part is called as the red zone by the emergency doctors (refreshment zone). The patient referred from this zone needs cardiologic refreshment or respiratory refreshment as it this zone is equipped with modern advance equipment and with highly qualified staff.

The third zone is called as the yellow zone by the emergency doctors. It is less dangerous than the red zone. The patient received at this section suffers from asthma. The patient in this section would be treated and referred to the internal sections or observation section or to the nearest hospital for continuing rendering him with good care. He would not keep long at the emergency section as this section is for transit patient and not to be congested with patients and only handling the emergency cases.

Mena Aljisr Hospital receives the cases around Mena bridge and adjacent areas only. I took part in Hajj season and saw that the system of Hospital is developing annually in concurrence with the increasing number of pilgrims, advanced technology and qualified experienced staff of the hospital.

There are some guidelines and advices for the pilgrims to follow. The guidelines and advices are stated in Hajj Book being distributed to the Hajj organizing agencies and companies. The medical bracelets should be worn by the pilgrims around their hands, who suffer from chronic diseases such as renal diseases, asthma and heart disease. These medical bracelets would facilitate the medical treatment of the pilgrims suffering from the chronic diseases as these bracelets contain the data of the patient in case of facing any complications while performing Hajj. So by this way the medical team at the emergency section can easily handle the patient as being guided by the data contained in the bracelets.

The emergency section, support services section and all other sections work as one team dedicating its efforts for rendering medical services to the pilgrims.
